Students discussed the sorts of things that would be needed at a birthday party, talked about how old MLK Jr. would be today, sang happy birthday, blew out candles, and ate cupcakes in honor of this great leader. Everyone had a great time!
![]() We hope you all had a great break and you are having a great start to this New Year! This semester we will start out with a Winter Unit. The unit is worked into our Weekly Reader Schedule covering winter topics: Frozen (Ice), Mittens, Martin Luther King, and Polar Animals. Today we began talking about different winter vocabulary- and putting them to use! We learned about spelling vocab words like mittens, scarf, hat, cold and so on, and in speech we learned about adjectives and verbs associated with snow. We learned through playing with the snow! Mrs. Reif brought in snow and we put our mittens and gloves on and played with it- learning how to make sentences about throwing the snow, that the snow is cold and wet, and the snow is made from frozen water. Please practice making these sentences at home with your own snow time! We will continue to learn about new vocabulary terms associated with winter and carry them over to our winter stories as well as winter math activities! Updates about this Semester:
