"Dabbing Through the Snow" was the PBIS theme for our CD Program January Kick-Off. Our students reviewed classroom expectations necessary for being respectful, responsible and safe at school. We took the following "CD Pledge" for following the 3 B's of CD: We the students and staff of the CD Program pledge to follow the 3B's of CD!!!! December wouldn't be complete without our annual Polar Express Party in our pajamas to help kick-off winter break!! We managed to jam pack our half day of school with loads of activities. We started our morning with center rotations in our classroom making reindeer food, snowman soup, and candy cane ornaments before heading off to the Occupational Therapy room for a winter wonderland obstable course! We then got in line to "board" the Polar Express. Students had their tickets ready and silly props to pose in front of our Polar Express train. After boarding our train we settled in with a tub of popcorn and a nice, warm cup of homemade hot chocolate. A special thanks to our parent volunteers for helping out: Mr. France, Mrs. McMullen-Perry, Mrs. Hilliard and Mrs. Qtaishat. It was the perfect day! December was a fun and busy month in Kerkstra room 7! We spent the month learning all about different Holidays around the world, reindeer, making holiday ornaments and creating our very own candy houses with some parent volunteers (special thanks to Mrs. Medek, Mr. France, and Mrs. Curpisin). We had a blast! K-18 dove right into our White/Winter unit with shaving cream snowmen and sensory play with ice! We are learning about all things cold and white this month! |
