We are having an awesome start to the year! End of August and September has been fun getting to know our new friends and teachers. We have been learning to take turns and share while playing cars. We all love working together to build and play with marble runs. We also had an unexpected guest ...... Harriet the chicken. I was fun to pet her soft feathers ..... We are hoping that she will stop by again. | |
Room 18 is crazy about apples!
We colored red apples! We learned about the letter A! We peeled apples! We made applesauce! Yum! Click the picture of the shoes to see a 5 year old boy showing us a neat trick to tie shoes! --Mrs. Schaeffer & Mrs. Pentek
(Kerkstra room 7)-- Mrs. Schaeffer & Mrs. Pentek's class got out into the sunshine toay on what felt like a summer day in the fall!! We teamed up with room 22 to check out Commissioners Park in Frankfort. It was an amazing (all wooden) park with a giant sand pit, obstacle courses, balance beams and more. After we worked up an appetite, we headed to Kenootz Pizza. Everyone got to make their own personal pizza! It was a fantastic way to start off our week!
Even with temperatures soaring, Kerkstra CD Room 22 and 7 enjoyed our time at Commissioners Park in Frankfort! Students were able to climb, swing, dig in the sand and play Frisbee. We then traveled to Kenootz Pizza to build our own individual pizzas! We loved spreading the sauce, sprinkling the cheese and adding a few pepperonis on top!!!! We were amazing chefs! Everyone enjoyed our community outing to the park and pizzeria!!! The gang's all here! The whole CD program was present to celebrate a great start to the school year! A beautiful day to be outside...from walking the track to flying a kite, the students (and staff!) enjoyed spending time with old and new friends and teachers! K-9 and K-22 particularly enjoyed the awesome park and sandbox!
