Braun Room 15 had a spectacular month exploring, learning, playing, and growing together. In the beginning of the month, we went to the Sensory Depot where we made Oobleck! It was so much fun to make and play in our messy creation. After the sensory room, we stopped at a local park. Our students showed how brave they are by ziplining at the park and jumping on the mini trampoline in the sensory room!  

As we prepared for Thanksgiving, Braun Room 15 made thank you cards for the Braun staff to show our appreciation. Not only are we crafty, but we can bake, too! During our fractions and measurements units, we practiced our skills by making brownies. After we baked them, we shared our ooey-gooey brownies with the Braun staff. 

Besides showing our appreciation and going on adventures, we are working hard in the classroom. Students have shown tremendous growth in their abilities in the following areas: counting, following directions, and recognizing community signs. We are also very lucky to have daily Speech Therapy and weekly Occupational Therapy that help us learn and grow! 

Braun Room 15 is looking forward to diving into December with all of our engaging lesson plans and winter activities!! 

October and November were soooo much fun!
We did everything from carving pumpkins to swimming. We WERE the best looking class in the Halloween parade and had fun trick or treating at the different classrooms. We had two exciting field trips. On the first field trip we went swimming at the Lemont Park District and the second field trip was to the Sensory Depot in Worth and then to a nearby park. We also have had some great science experiments - for one experiment we created ghosts (white balloons) and watched them come to life (blow up) using vinegar and baking soda. Ms. C (OT) did a really fun sensory group activity using wet noodles and spelling our names.

October was all about pumpkin fun in Kerkstra room 9.  We learned all about pumpkin parts, carved a pumpkin and even made a pumpkin volcano! We ended the month with a fun day at Konows Pumpkin Farm in Homer Glen! We Love Pumpkins! Next up.........turkeys!
