Kerkstra Room 22 enjoyed an amazing community outing exploring the many interesting exhibits at the Chicago Children's Museum on Navy Pier!! We dove into the WaterWays exhibit first and then headed to the Tinkering Lab to design our own project using real tools and materials. Next, we were able to dig for dinosaur bones at the Dinosaur Expedition. The Skyline area gave us the opportunity to use real tools to construct skyscrapers and houses. Then, we took turns crawling up the ropes and bridges of the Climbing Schooner! Finally, the students explored fire safety rules through the eyes of a firefighter at the Play It Safe Exhibit. Last, we ate our sack lunches in the family pavilion and investigated the Crystal Gardens before heading back to school. CCM gave us the opportunity to have fun AND learn at the same time!!
