The ESY session seems so far away; however, we are still celebrating our accomplishments. During ESY we had 9 students take the IL and US Constitution test and had 100% pass rate! These students worked hard in a short period of time to learn the information and pass. One of our para-educators, Patrick Deacy, contacted Senator Mark Kirk's office and they arranged to have a United States flag flown over the Capital building on our first day of school, August 14th. This week, we received our flag that was flown along with a certificate of recognition! How exciting is that? Our students were beside themselves when we informed them and were excited to take a picture with the flag. (We have 3 students not pictured)
![]() Parents who attended the Back to School Night at Andrew had the opportunity to purchase a $1 water and write a note to their son/daughter. The CD teachers made special deliveries to those students during 2nd hour Advisory. They were not only surprised by the water, but excited to read the note that their parent(s) left them. ![]() The CD program at Andrew High School took part in the annual Back to School Night, Wednesday (08/26/2015) evening. Over 50% of the CD families participated in the evening event, which consisted of traveling through their son/daughter's schedule. Parents spent 10 minutes in each class listening and learning about the expectations for each course. The CD team appreciated the tremendous turn out and hopes that the parents, who were able to attend, left with a better understanding of what a typical school day looks like. |
