Students focused on reading poems about the marvels of nature in our world, such as the Himalayas, the Great Barrier Reef, and the Aurora Borealis. After the reading and discussion of poetry, they each wrote an Acrostic and an Alliteration poem.
An acrostic poem is a poem where certain letters in each line spell out a word or phrase. Typically, the first letters of each line are used to spell the message.
An alliteration poem has the repetition of initial stressed, consonant sounds in a series of words within a phrase or verse line.
