Ms. Kern's health class has been learning the importance of good hygiene and proper hand washing. We have completed many fun activities to give the students the visual examples of how germs spread from one person to another. We simulated sneezing or coughing into our hands (by using paint and glitter) and then without washing our hands touched others or shook someones hand. This really put things into perspective! We also did a fun lab showing how just one drop of soap on our hands will move germs (pepper in water) quickly away from the soap. We will be finishing this unit by taking swab samples around the school from areas they think have the most/least amount of germs. We will see how much bacteria grows in petri dishes from our samples. We will keep you posted! Comments are closed.
