As the unit progresses, they will learn components of brain science such as, the lobes of the brain and their functions! This unit is always taught with sensitivity, honesty, and respect. Students will increase in self awareness and learn to advocate for themselves through this unit, which will support them presently and in their future.
:Mrs. Granato-Wagner, Mrs. Kellermann, and Ms. Healy have started the "Disability Awareness" unit in their 4th hour Jr/Sr Interpersonal Applications course. The students began with a "brain art" project, in which they used their intrapersonal intelligences, as well as, their visual spatial intelligences to create sections of a brain template in the areas of their academic life, family, their interests, strengths, and their future.
