On October 24, we went to the Shedd Aquarium with our friends from C12. We visited the Wild Reef where we saw aquarium employees and volunteers feeding the animals and cleaning their exhibits. We even saw employees catching big fish in one display in order to move them to an exhibit of their own (they had been eating all the food before the smaller fish had a chance to eat!). We also watched a diver feeding the animals in the Caribbean Reef exhibit, got a good visit in with the beluga whales (Mrs. G's favorite!), went to the tide pool where we touched some sea stars and barnacles, and watched the dolphins show off their skills in the aquatic show. It was a great day to visit the animals we have been studying in science this month!
