We had so much fun at Seigels Cottonwood Farm in October! We rode on the Ghost Train, played in a grain bin, and went on a hay ride. Jumping on the big pillow was our favorite activity! The staff at the farm were so kind and helpful to us! We can't wait to go back next year!
At the end of October, we celebrated two holidays: Halloween and Dia de los Muertos. We enjoyed learning about different ways people celebrate and remember loved ones who have passed on. We made masks and our junior high buddies made ofrendas (altars) in remembrance of their loved ones.
It's probably a science experiment! We have done several "gross" science experiments to learn about physical and chemical changes. During our first experiment, we observed changes in bread and fruit over time and what variables caused more or less change. Our second experiment involved candy corn and candy pumpkins. We put these yummy treats into various liquids and observed how they changed as a result. The final results did not look appetizing, but that did not deter some of us from sneaking extra pieces of the leftover sweets.
