We started the school year with remote learning, so Ms. Mirabella mailed out some postcards to her students. Each student received a passport with stickers, a flag they created, and a class schedule.
In Social Studies, we are learning about different countries and holidays celebrated around the world. Students received postcards with blank pages and stickers to decorate. They are going to draw a picture for each country or holiday they learned about starting next week.

In English/Language Arts, we read a short story called, "A Flag of Many Faces". Then, students learned looked at different country flags such as Kenya, Japan, Australia, Israel, and many more! We compared flags that had similar shapes and colors. After that, students and staff took turns creating their own flags. Now they can hang up their flags at home and in the classroom once we return to in-person learning.

The new school year came with many new changes including a new daily/weekly schedule to learn. We sent out a visual so students can remember class times and break times in between. Each student also has an IEP Goal Work time with Ms. Mirabella and Ms. Castaneda once a week, which is labeled on each individualized visual schedule. A great way to stay organized and follow a routine!
