February Student of the Month

​Meet Daniel!

Daniel is a third grade student in the Communication Development Program at Fulton School in Mrs. Crotty and Miss Kenaga's classroom.  Daniel is amazing, hardworking, kind, and loves participating!  Daniel is always very eager to share what he knows and is one of the first students to raise their hand when a question is asked or if a volunteer is needed.  He is a role model for his peers and is a whiz at following the 3B's of CD.  Daniel enjoys going to his 3rd grade mainstream math class and is doing very well!  In addition to his friends in his classroom, he has made many friends by going out to mainstream math and encore classes.  When asked what he loves best about coming to Fulton, Daniel eagerly answered, "I love going to recess and seeing all my friends!"  Daniel's enthusiasm and smile make him a great fit in room 216!

Meet Marcos!

Marcos is a student at CD Andrew High School, in Ms. Seper's classroom.  Ms. Seper stated, "Marcos is a kind, thoughtful, and caring young man who is so much fun to have in class.  Marcos has done an amazing job transitioning into high school and has made good connections with his teachers and peers.  He is a hard-working student who strives to do his best on every assignment he has.  He loves to joke with his teachers and even pull pranks on them!  We are so lucky to have Marcos in CD Andrew!"

Meet Alex Wirth!

Alex is a student at Morton Gingerwood School in Ms. Kusturin and Ms. Toledo's classroom.  According to his teachers,  Alex has shown great progress this month and has been doing an amazing job in class.  Alex actively participates and is always eager to answer questions.  His teachers are very proud of him,  it is a pleasure to recognize Alex  as student of the month!

Meet Jayden Lagunas!

Jayden is a student at Andrew High School in Mrs. Lavery's classroom.  According to Mrs. Lavery, ​Jayden transferred to the CD Program this year as a Sophomore and has adapted to the change well. She stated, "Jayden is a kind, respectful student whose smile lights up the room. Jayden always puts forth his best effort and works his hardest on all of his work, even when it is difficult. Jayden's resilience is admirable. Jayden has shown growth in the classroom with his participation and volunteering to answer questions. In PE, he is always smiling and laughing with his friends and it is great to see him in that environment having fun! Jayden is a pleasure to have and we cannot wait to see him continue to grow."

Way to go Jayden, we are so proud of you!

November Student of the Month

Meet Joshua Smith!
Josh is a student in Mr. Joe Daker's room at Morton Gingerwood School.  Mr. Daker stated, "Josh is an amazing student!  He is always smiling, always participates, and loves to dance.  He is friendly towards staff and his classmates.  Josh uses his talker to tell staff his wants and needs.  During his free time, Josh loves to play with sensory toys and swing at the park.  Josh has become quite the master chef this year by creating his own sandwiches every day for lunch.  He is having an amazing year and is such a joy to have in class!"

MEET VILNIUS POCIUS

Vilnius is a student in Mrs. Doherty's classroom at Morton Gingerwood school, room 113. This is what Mrs. Doherty had to say about Vilnius, "We are so excited to announce Vil as our Student of the Month.  What a special student Vil is, the real MVP of 113!  He comes to school each day with a bright smile, song and friendly hello.  Vil enjoys working and is so creative with his play activities.  Vil's energy and happiness make room 113 a special place.  We are so proud to have Vil a part of room 113!"

​Meet Damien King

Damien is in Pre-K (Rm 105), Ms. Hendrickson/Ms. Rubio's classroom at Morton Gingerwood school.  
​​Damien has made great gains in transitioning throughout the building. He is a hard worker and can independently works on puzzles and other sorting activities! He is a joy to be around and makes the whole building smile!

​Meet AnDrue Pointer 

 AnDrue is a student at Morton Gingerwood school in Ms. Gardas/Ms.Herbst's classroom (Rm 106). AnDrue is doing a great job adjusting to his new full day schedule as a Kindergartener.  He is working so hard on requesting items using his AAC device. AnDrue enjoys using counters when counting to 10 and loves completing puzzles. AnDrue is a bundle of energy and has a great time at the park going up and down the slide and swinging on the swings. He loves playing dress up and racing cars with his new classmates.

CD Satellite Student of the Month!

                                       Meet Ryan!
​Ryan is an 8th grade student who just graduated from Mr. McElligott and Mrs. O'Brien's class at Central Middle School. Ryan is a hardworking and kind student who loves to joke around with his teachers. He has shown a lot of growth this year with reading, math, and talking himself through dealing with problems in a positive way. Some of his favorite parts of his 8th grade year include sewing class, robotics class, and social language video clips. When he's not in school, he loves memorizing maps (particularly road signs and directions!), riding his scooter on walks with dad, and going to Dave & Busters. We are so proud of all of his accomplishments during middle school and are excited to hear about all of his success in high school!

MGW Room 114 is excited to announce Kareem as our student of the month. Kareem has shown great progress since starting in our classroom. Kareem always has a positive attitude and is ready to help his classmates and teachers. You can always count on Kareem for encouraging words and kind compliments. Kareem loves music and is always the song leader of the class. Keep up the good work, Kareem!
